Susan Justice
Co-founder, Executive Director
Susan's childhood was marked by the stories of sexual abuse shared by her cousins and friends, which fueled her passion for law and child advocacy. Throughout her career, she has been tireless in her efforts to protect the rights of children and raise awareness about the devastating long-term impact of child abuse, especially within the South Asian community. She wants victims of abuse to know that they are not to blame and have nothing to be ashamed of and is committed to working towards a world in which victims of childhood sexual abuse can speak out and receive the support they need.
In addition to her legal work, Susan is also actively involved in various community organizations and initiatives that aim to prevent child abuse and support victims. She strongly believes in the power of education and regularly speaks at schools and events to raise awareness about this critical issue. Despite the challenges and emotions that come with this vital work, Susan remains dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young people everywhere. This initiative is a testament to Susan's unwavering commitment to advocating for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and protecting children from such abuse.
Sukhjeevan Singh Chattha
Co-founder, Director of Communications
Growing up, many of Sukhjeevan's friends confided in him about being sexually abused at the hands of trusted individuals, and he has seen how this has resulted in deep, hidden, lifelong pain, robbing them of happiness and potential. Such abuse remained hidden for years due to unfair barriers ranging from guilt to those created by our South Asian culture. Sukhjeevan is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, and he has devoted his time and energy to creating a safer and more supportive world for them. Through this initiative, he hopes to break down the barriers that have kept victims silent and help them heal and become survivors.
Sukhjeevan's professional experience as a dentist and his dedication to serving vulnerable and marginalized communities is evident in his work, where he has prioritized providing high-quality care to those in need. He has also actively participated in various community service initiatives, including organizing blood drives and fundraisers and working with grassroots organizations to address critical issues facing these communities. Sukhjeevan's passion for social justice and his commitment to helping others make him an invaluable member of the community, and his dedication to this important cause is truly inspiring.
Kirpa Kaur
Co-founder, Director of Operations
Kirpa Kaur is a seasoned spiritual and political activist who has spent the last decade working with various organizations and programs that promote global justice, child abuse education, and support for victims of violence against women. She has been a driving force behind several initiatives, including the first South Asian-specific mentorship program, forums on gang violence in British Columbia, and local women's groups that encourage inter-generational dialogue and address stigma. Kirpa is passionate about helping individuals who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, and she is committed to raising awareness of this issue within the South Asian community and working to end the cycle of abuse.
Through her tireless efforts and dedication, Kirpa is making a real difference in the lives of countless people and striving to create a safer and more supportive world for everyone. Kirpa's activism is inspired by the all-encompassing, inclusive feminist critical spiritual, political, and economic analysis of the Khalsa, and she works tirelessly to promote these ideals through her grassroots work with South Asian organizations. She hopes to inspire others to heal from trauma and fight for social justice.
